Profile

Matías has been a counsel to our firm since 2020. His practice focuses on antitrust.

He studied Law at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (2008). He was awarded a scholarship by the UC Center for Antitrust in the postgraduate program in Competition Law at the same university.

For more than a decade, Matías has advised companies and trade associations on competition matters, both on issues of cartels and abuse of a dominant position. Likewise, he has successfully implemented compliance programs. He is currently serving as a compliance officer in a transnational company.

Since 2009, Matías has taught both at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, both in the Schools of Law and Economics, in some of the country’s leading universities. For 11 years (2009 – 2019) Matías was the Academic Coordinator of the postgraduate program in Competition Law at the Pontificia Universidad Católica.

Relevant Experience

Antitrust. Abuse of a dominant position. Auditor for the National Economic Prosecutor’s Office of a transnational company in the household hygiene, personal hygiene and food product market.

Compliance. He has developed and implemented Compliance Programs in companies of various categories and in Trade Associations.

Projects. He has developed projects in matters of Competition, Unfair Competition, Consumer Law, Industrial and Intellectual Property, of the CNDP (National Commission in Charge of Investigating the Existence of Distortions in the Price of Imported Goods) and educational in these areas, at both national and international levels.
